School of Sanctuary

St Regis is proud to be an official School of Sanctuary.
-
Our school vision guides our practice of creating a culture of welcome and inclusion for all.
-
We have a multi-cultural school community.
-
More than forty languages, including dialects are spoken in school.
-
We enjoy and celebrate all cultures.
-
We seize every opportunity to share our educational heritage.
-
We endeavour to continue our efforts and maintain our School of Sanctuary status.
What is a School of Sanctuary?
A school that is committed to being safe and a welcoming place for all. We help students, staff and our wider community understand what it means to be seeking sanctuary and to extend a welcome to everyone as equal valued members of the school community.
As part of our School of Sanctuary initiative, we aim to:
• Promote positive attitudes within schools and their communities around people seeking sanctuary.
• Support schools to take positive steps to be proud of being places of safety and inclusion for all.
• Recognise and celebrate schools that are committed to welcoming and supporting people seeking sanctuary.
